WELCOME TO NeuroLeaD LAB!
ABOUT US

The Neuroscience of Learning and Development (NeuroLeaD) laboratory of the University of Hong Kong focuses on neural plasticity and mechanisms underlying developmental and learning disorders, as well as changes in brain structure and function following behavioral interventions. Our research concerns individuals with reading disability, ASD, and ADHD.
Briefly, our current research directions include:
-
Neural mechanisms of language and reading development and developmental dyslexia: Investigating the neural changes from childhood to adulthood during language and reading development, as well as the unique characteristics and intervention effects in individuals with dyslexia.
-
Neural plasticity mechanisms in foreign language learning: Studying how the brain adapts and changes during the process of acquiring a new language.
-
Neural mechanisms of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): Analyzing the neural features of individuals with ADHD and other developmental disorders in cognitive and social interactions.
-
Neural mechanisms of language and social cognition in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): Exploring the brain mechanisms underlying language comprehension and social cognition in children and adolescents with ASD.
These research projects aim to help us better understand the brain development of children, adolescents, and adults, and to explore more effective ways to provide support. If you are interested in participating or would like to learn more, please feel free to contact us!
